Lakehouse at Lake Bemidji, Minnesota
That is to be said, that this Cabin might be one of our most small projects. It is a Contemporary Style piece on Bemidji Lakeshore. We kept it so simple that it is almost minimalist.
Firstly, we find the Main Entrance emphasized by a stone column that runs all the way up the second story. Once we get inside, we have a foyer connecting the entrance with the Kitchen. The Kitchen displays an open space layout with a Prep-Sitting island in the middle. It is also connected to the Master Suite and a Utility Room. The design opens up to the Great Room, which enjoys the lake views and sits on an open-to above space.
On the rear, we have a Covered Porch that turns into a Screened Porch by activating the motorized pull-down screens embedded into the walls. It keeps people safe from bugs while still enjoying the lake.
Upper Level
The Great Room also features a flying steel stair going up to the upper story. That stairs land on an open space that works as a Family Room which looks over the Great Room below. From there, you can still enjoy the view since the rear wall is entirely made of windows. That also space features two bunk beds and built-in niches on the walls. In between then, we placed a Walk-In Closet. On the opposite side, we put a multi-user bathroom for the kids.
Finally, we placed an observation deck over the Covered Porch Bellow. You access that deck through a catwalk that runs over the Living Room Below the Family Room.
