Riding on the Streetcar, New Orleans - Travel

This was so amazing that

Riding on a Streetcar was so amazing that we wanted to make a special post about it. Our minds and spirits couldn't believe how incredible this is. It's so nostalgic, romantic and technically interesting at the same time. That felt like being in a dream and of course that deserved its own post.

The Streetcar system is working since 1831. That is to be said that this specific line of St Charles is the oldest continuously operating street railway system in the world. The other lines have had interruptions for different reasons, hurricane Katrina was one of those reasons.

If you plan to come to New Orleans as a tourist, I really recommend you to stay close to the Streetcar lines. We stayed in the Garden District. That way you can go back and forth to your daily tourist destination having this incredible experience. So I would never get tired of it. If you do so, you won't have to spend money on Uber, won't have to pay the high rates of hotels into the main touristic zone. But you'll still be connected to it through an amazing experience like this.

Using a superficial transport system is (after walking) the best way to live the place. In some cities, traffic makes it impossible to enjoy but not in this case where traffic is out of the equation. It is not just about the car itself, it is also about all that you see in the surroundings. All that urban landscape with trees, buildings, houses, churches and so on. You can enjoy all these beauties passing by on a ride like this.

So, with riding on the Streetcar, we take one of the most beautiful memories. It was actually, riding on a lovable time machine.

Usando el Tranvía en New Orleans

Esto fue tan increíble que quisimos hacer un post especial al respecto. No podíamos creer lo increíble que es esto. Es nostálgico, romántico y técnicamente interesante al mismo tiempo. Tanto que se sentía como estar en un sueño y, por supuesto, que merecía su propia publicación.

El sistema de tranvías funciona desde 1831. Específicamente esta línea de St Charles es el sistema ferroviario de calles de funcionamiento continuo más antiguo del mundo. Las otras líneas de este sistema han tenido interrupciones por diferentes motivos, el huracán Katrina fue uno de ellos.

Si vienes a New Orleans como turista, te recomiendo que te mantengas hospedado cerca de las líneas de tranvía. ASí podrás ir y venir a tu destino turístico diario montado en esta increíble experiencia, nunca me cansaría de ello. Si lo haces, no tendrá que gastar dinero en Uber, no tendrá que pagar las altas tarifas de los hoteles en la principal zona turística. Pero aún así estará conectado a través de una experiencia increíble.

Usar un sistema de transporte superficial es (después de caminar) la mejor forma de vivir el lugar. En algunas ciudades el tráfico hace que sea imposible de disfrutar, pero en este caso el tráfico está fuera de la ecuación. No es solo del tranvía en sí, sino que también se trata de lo que uno ve del entorno. El paisaje urbano con árboles, edificios, casas, iglesias y todo lo que se puede disfrutar en un paseo como este.
