The European Style at the Golf Course was first envisioned as a detailed sketch, designed to bring timeless European elegance to a prestigious setting. Since it had to meet the high standards of Rock Creek Golf Club, one of the most exclusive communities in Lake Texoma, the design required refinement. The layout was strong, but the elevations needed a complete redesign. To elevate its character and elegance, I refined the exterior. That challenge pushed my creativity and ultimately took the design to the next level.
If you’ve been following my work, you might remember when I shared the early concept in this sketch post. At that time, I was also refining my Digital Sketch process. My goal was to eliminate drawing lines and define shapes using only light, shadow, and texture. After much experimentation, I finally achieved the effect I had been aiming for. Seeing those sketches evolve into a completed home is incredibly rewarding.
Now fully built, this European Style at the Golf Course embodies classic European architecture while maintaining a bold, modern presence. The façade blends dark red brick, natural stone, and tan-painted masonry, creating a rich and textured exterior. Additionally, dark wood panels add contrast and depth. I incorporated vertical window arrangements to emphasize the height, while curved architectural details further reinforce its European character.
One of the most striking features is the roofline. It combines gables with dark shed roofs, offering a sophisticated yet dynamic look. Meanwhile, the metal accents reflect sunlight throughout the day, bringing subtle shifts in tone and adding elegance to the overall composition. At the rear, large glass panels seamlessly connect the indoor and outdoor spaces. Thanks to this design, natural light floods the gathering areas, making them feel open and inviting.
