The Brief
In our first meeting the couple said it clearly: they wanted an Outstanding Modern Farmhouse on a golf course. That sentence became the guiding thread of the whole process. The house had to have it all: three levels, a great room, a wine cellar, a media room, a covered patio with outdoor cooking, and all the glass needed to enjoy the views of the golf course and the pond. The program grew to four bedrooms, six bathrooms, a game room, a studio, a bunk room, and an office nook.
The Design Idea
The topography suggested the first decision, and it was a practical one. The lot makes a hill above the golf course, and the social spaces of the house belonged at that level, so the great room became a balcony over the fairways.
This is another design with a walk out basement. The street level connects with the road and leads straight into the great room. The basement is the entertainment level and connects with the golf course, so guests and players arrive at that floor. The private spaces rise to the third level, away from the social areas and with privileged views.
The architecture combines traditional farmhouse elements with modern functionality. Painted brick, vertical wood panels, black framed windows, and metal awnings give the house a calm and crafted presence over the course.

Inside the House
A classic vertical gabled element marks the main entrance, and the foyer opens into an expansive great room. The living, dining, and kitchen spaces are framed by floor to ceiling windows facing the golf course and a serene pond, and a terrace extends along the great room to blur the line between indoors and outdoors.
The lower level is an entertainment haven with a game room, a media room, and a wine cellar, all opening to a covered terrace. Motorized screens transform the terrace into a screened porch for enjoying the surroundings all year. The upper level is a private retreat with a primary suite and a spacious bathroom, two secondary bedrooms, a bunk room, and an office nook. An attached three car garage completes the home.
